the beauty of longevity
For L’Oréal Group’s private event The Beauty of Longevity, Niceaunties presented a landmark showcase of the Auntieverse, bringing the older Asian woman, a figure often overlooked or stereotyped, into a global dialogue on beauty, ageing, and care. At the entrance lobby, visitors were greeted by a hyperrealistic large-scale auntie sculpture created in collaboration with sculptor Valter Adam Casotto. Developed from the video Spring Skin, which explores renewal and regeneration from within, the sculpture reframes the auntie archetype as a symbol of vitality and evolution. For the first time, the “auntie” becomes associated with emerging ideas of beauty, marking a paradigm shift in how society imagines ageing bodies. Inside the exhibition room, Fisheye Immersive curated a selection of images and moving works drawn from the Spa Menu and Fashion chapters of the Auntieverse, alongside videos centred on skin, transformation, and inner life. This presentation created a lush, multidimensional environment where humour, tenderness, and surreal speculation came together to reimagine the aesthetics of ageing. During the event, Niceaunties also participated in a panel discussion on beauty, sharing Eastern philosophies of ageing, interdependence, and the social infrastructure that supports longevity.
